On June 6, as part of the global forum Cleantech Days 2024, which was held in Vienna, Austria, a competition of green projects was held, in which the Kazakh startup Ozen-M took 2nd place among 22 teams from around the world. The second presented project from Kazakhstan, Re-Compo, was included in the list of TOP-6 finalists.
Ozen-M is a web application with an interactive map for monitoring the condition of rivers and lakes in real time. The development allows users to schematically view the flow of the main river and its tributaries, as well as the location of the main hydraulic structures in the river basin for the purpose of effective water resource management.
Aigerim Nurmagambetova, co-founder of Ozen-M, gave a speech: “Thank you very much for believing in us, especially GCIP Kazakhstan, whose support was very valuable for our project. We work with big data as part of our monitoring platform, and we must say that data is the new oil. Valuable and requiring processing.”
Finalist Re-Compo presented a project for processing combined juice and milk packaging into environmentally friendly building materials, an alternative to standard OSB, MDF panels, etc.
Cleantech Days is a global event from UNIDO, where GCIP finalists from around the world were presented. Kazakhstan was the only country from which more than one startup reached the finals.
